I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
